Basic concept for final design
This is the bare bones design of my final model, of course the Datum will be toyed with, as will the 'underground effect'. This is simply a frame work to expand upon, the following blogs will show this.
Note the bottom viewing platform in white, the top platform is in the background in blue. This is the basis for my final design.
Stair designs and cross sections: the stair: part 1.
Lecture stair sections (1): top section (2): side on. This i found particularly interesting beacuse of the precision design and the element of danger.
Stair designs for original model. Designed to have an angry ruthless feel to it.
These are my final stair designs. I expanded upon this original creating a slight spiral as seen later on. The heavy duty glass ramp still remains although it is intergrated into the lower stair design. This is to give a feel of danger and excitement to the lower section; thus keeping both stairs interesting.
This is my down stairs section for my final design, it cuts through a 'pillar' and in the actual model also has the ramp. Also, i felt a 90 degree angle would be more interesting and 'sharp' edged to keep place with the metal motifon that lower section. Based on:

google sketch up preliminary '1' experimental design/ practice
cross section showing relations to drawing (note i was unable to write text on the screen shot vis paint for some reason??)
screen 2 showing a full exterior section.
Note the right entry way (the blue tunnel), the raised ground and alternating datums. Datum 1 could be considered as the tops of the buildings, 2 the concrete foundation (the whole thing is surrounded by a raised cliff face). Also of note the screen did not take properly, see below for proper working screen.
screen 3, showing a full exterior view and 'artificial' grasses. Note in the right a platform for extra viewing

Architecture 1101
Architecture 1101 blog. (1)
The photo on the left is of a beautiful scene feautring a meadow in early spring. The contrasting colours of the flowers compliment the earthy tones of the mountain and pristine lake in the background. Apart from being a genuinely awesome scene of natural beauty at its finest, the
scene could also be considered in many ways a source of architectural inspiration; for example the colour of the flowers or the contour and texture of the mountains.
Taipei 101 is a structure in Taipei that stands over 400m tall, and was at 1 stage the worlds tallest building. Its elegant design coupled with mesmerising size make it a modern wonder of the world. This building has singlehandeldy put Taipei on the world stage and has sprung a plethora of other building projects in the area. Its sleek asian influenced design (it is based off of
a piece of bamboo) coupled by its amazing engineering make it one of my personal favourite buildings.
I was unable to find a creative piece of work I did in high school, however if required i can bring a sketchbook with several recreational sketches. This particular piece of work is a quick sketch of
my room. Taking approximately half an hour, it is one of my more favoured sketches. I have done many more like this.
Rosalie Gascoine: grow, child, happy
Tracy Moffat: crash, train, angry
Note: In picking my words i used broad and versatile terms, in order to convey the strongest visual reflection of said words.
